Rack Beam Topeak QR no mad
I got this rack more or less exclusively to carry one of the Topeak MTX trunks for bike commuting to work. There are several different styles of this rack with different angles.
Functionally speaking there is no difference in quality or utility between the different styles. The main difference is what angle do you need to attach to your seat post and clear your tire. The configuration of your frame, seat post and any other seat post accessories will determine which one is right for you. I got the straight post as that fit my bike the best (Cannondale Bad boy ultra).
I went for the clamp on style vs the screw on style because it gave me the flexibility to easily take it on and off. I can put it on for the commute and then when I get home take off and loose the extra weight for recreational riding. I can also easily move it to my mountain bike and use it for running errands and shopping. Keep in mind its weight limit is 30 lbs. If you are doing heavy shopping you need to get one that has struts that attach to your bike frame.
Getting it on and off is easy enough, just tighten or loosen the clamp screw. Its designed to fit thicker tubes. In order to get it on my old mountain bike I had to use a shim from an old rack of mine. It works fine, but keep that in mind if you’ve got a bike with a thinner seat post.
Once concern I had was if the rack was going to shift around a lot when loaded. I found that if I get it tightened right that’s not an issue. It’s held the weight of a watermelon and still not shifted. You do have to get it clamped down as much as possible. If you want the lever to fit flush you have to do the adjustments one full rotation at a time.
The rack has some rubber tie downs on it, haven’t used them. There is also a mounting kit for putting a back light on the back that looks complicated. For me its not something I would use. When the trunk is on the rack I can clip it to the trunk, when the trunk is off you can see the light mounted on the seat po

To put is simply, Colfer has a gift for taking excellent research of Irish mythology and giving it a modern and technical twist. That makes for plenty of wry, clever humor for this smartly paced book.
It’s a great concept: child criminal mastermind, big tough bodyguard. The little people with their gold.
It pokes fun of itself and all of its crazy characters as well as the entirity of Irish mythology. I appreciate the lengths Colfer has gone to, and the action is hilarious and well-done.
It’s not what I could call timeless fantasy, but it certainly is worth the popularity it holds.
