Twilight tells the story of Isabella Swan, a teenager who has decided to move from Phoenix, Arizona to live with her father in the rural town of Forks, Washington. Bella is mostly ambivalent about her new living arrangement but is somewhat put down by the unfamiliar green scenery and the perennial cloudy/rainy weather conditions. Her biggest concern, understandably, is fitting in with her peers (she is a teenager, after all). Bella is quickly thrown off balance by a seemingly hateful glare from Edward Cullen, a pale, devastatingly handsome boy who only hangs out with four other pale, devastatingly good-looking people. Edward’s glowering fades away after saving Bella from a swerving truck and he starts getting chummy with her. As things heat up, Bella notices odd things about the Cullen clan and starts to suspect Edward is a vampire. Edward admits to craving Bella’s blood, though he claims that his feelings for her are forcing him to control himself. He tries to dissuade Bella from having a relationship with a blood-drinking non-human, but she has already fallen in love with him. Just as Edward starts to trust himself with Bella’s life, an unexpected visit from other vampires puts Bella’s life in danger and forces the entire Cullen clan to try to keep her safe.

To put it bluntly, Stephanie Meyer’s writing style is plain. She doesn’t have the beautiful prose of Anne Rice or even the vocabulary of your typical best-selling YA writer. Imagine a friend telling you about a dream they had and you’ll have a sense of how the story unfolds. Most of the time, Meyer telling you what is happening with the characters instead of showing you. And yet, something about the story kept me reading. Maybe I just like vampires. The book kept me interested through the boring parts because Meyer threw in little tidbits of Edward’s true nature as the story progressed. So I discovered a major issue with this as soon as I got it. It doesn’t respond to taps with fingernails (acrylic in my case). This makes typing nearly impossible and highly frustrating. I wish they would have thought about a huge customer base of women that would have this problem when they were creating this. I have been able to use touchpads on other phones and devices with the tap of my nail just fine so I didn’t even think this would be a problem when I bought this. Very disappointing. I wonder if they will ever come up with a fix for this?

I do love the screen clarity and all of the other features about it, the capacity and the ability to be online where ever you have wi-fi access, which is nearly anywhere now days.

What a terrific read……It also intrigued me to learn more about the history of the circus and possible trip to a circus museum in Florida…….There should definitely be a movie on this book…….recommend it!

Is Pink Birdy Squiggles Parrot suck?

Not sure I can add much more to the thousands of reviews of The Help and I rarely review books but I had to go on record as saying this is one of my favorite books in recent years and will be on my list of all time favorites. I felt so moved and connected to the 3 primary characters – each of them unique and highly individual. I laughed, I cried, I didn’t want it to end. And I would love to read a follow up of how they each fare. If you enjoy novels set in an a historic context, particularly recent American history, and/or enjoy stories about women relating to each other, you must read this book.

My girlfriend owns a 16gb 2g that she liked and it had all her contacts on. It started acting flakey about a year ago so we thought it was going to die. After one update (3.????) it finally just went black and was unrecognizable by a few computers we tried it on. We thought it was dead. Went to the Apple store, what a zoo, and the “genius” there said there was nothing they can do other then sell us a refurb or a new one. After that I bought a new 3g on Amazon for not much more than Apple’s refurb. Got home and read a few Craigs listing stating they can fix the touch/iphone. So I tried them really thinking it was hopeless. For only $25 they fixed the problem! The place that did it just called it a “reset”. Gee, Apple, why don’t you just put a reset button on the unit??? Or at least give the software to your “GENIUSES” so they can do it??? Jerks. So I think Apple suxs. They tried to rip us off and get our unit for nothing. I’m returning the one I bought and Apple can eat the cost of refurbing it. I bet they just repackage it and sell it as new anyway. What rip off jerks. Me, I own a Sony Walkman mp3 player that actually SOUNDS great (all those equalizer settings on the Touch sound horrible), and got a phone that doesn’t drop calls (Verizon). Guess I’m just not a kid anymore. I buy things that actually work.

It baffles me to no end that anyone would give this book a five star rating or that it is considered a literary classic with a “powerful” theme. Not only is it intellectually barren, but is horribly written. Tedious and repetetive, it is literally the worst book I have ever encountered. It should be banned, not because of controversial language or subject matter, but so it cannot be inflicted on humanity any longer. It is truly a crime that this book is elevated to a position of equality with works like To Kill a Mockingbird.
