As fluff goes, this was an entertaining tale of teenage love/angst. This series was a guilty pleasure as I have read all four books. However, if you are looking for great writing with deep meaning, get something else. Really, this is a book for tweens, don’t expect Shakespeare. I would have rated it a three star fluff book except for the author’s disturbing decision to have her heroine constantly express her inferiority to the male leads. I am not pretty enough, I am not worthy, etc. Give me a break!

I’ve been an on-again-off-again runner for years, and never bothered to use more than a heartrate monitor when running regularly. Last month I signed up for a half-marathon scheduled for August 2010. When I began looking into various training programs to get me ready for the run, I realized I was either going to have to spend some tedious time online mapping out my routes in order to be sure I was running the correct mileage on my training runs…or I could invest in something that would do that for me. I initially thought I wanted something smaller on my wrist, but since the smaller versions of the Forerunner cost twice as much, I decided I could handle the larger size.

I invested in the 305, have been using it for a week, and am very happy with it.

One thing I haven’t seen in any previous reveiws is a mention of the tiny font used for the heartrate information. I was hoping I could do something about that: customize a screen, for instance, to make it larger, but I haven’t found any way to do so. When I’m running, especially in dim light, I need to stop for a moment and peer at the tiny numbers to check my heartrate. Since this is a heartrate monitor in addition to its other functions, it would be nice if I were at least given the option to make the numbers on the screen larger and easier to read.

On the other hand, information I didn’t expect to be interested in, such as my pace, has already become more important to me than my heartrate, so perhaps I eventually won’t mind the tiny heartrate numbers.

Pace, as other reviews have mentioned, can vary quite a bit during the course of a run. I tend to notice a difference of about a minute-per-mile, even if I think I’m carefully running at a consistent pace. (As a beginner, I’m not completely sure I’m being consistent, even when I think I am). That doesn’t really bother me at this point, I figure that as long as it’s reasonably accurate, it keeps me from running too quickly or too slowly on my training runs.

This book is soooo misleading. It is not the voice of God nor does it come from the word of God. If someone truly seeks advice and more understanding, he/she should get a Student Bible or an “Understanding the Bible” type of book from a Christian store. This book makes me want to vomit; knowing how many people are reading and believing the LIES that are COMPLETELY THROUGHOUT this book!

This carpet cleaner does a good job. It is ironic though that it is called a “steam” cleaner and there is no mention of using hot water in the manual and the unit does not heat the water to make steam. So, I used water I had heated to a boil and did not use any soap at all. This did a great job and dried quickly.

Everyone knows the plot summary of Twilight, and if you don’t you’ve been living under a rock. I’m not going to waste a lot of time explaining it for that reason, so let me just briefly say that it’s a romance novel about a girl and her vampire boyfriend. Drama ensues.

I finally got around to reading this after only every single one of my friends told me it was the best thing they’ve ever read. When a whole lot of people speak so highly of a particular novel, that normally means it’s vastly overrated. So, I was a bit skeptical. I saw the movie version before I read the book, and I thought it was ridiculous. Still, my friend kept advising me to give the book a chance. I normally like to read whatever is popular at the moment so I can discuss it when it comes up in conversation, plus it happened to be on the shelf at the library when I went in (for the first time in a good year or two there was no waiting list), so I thought “why not”.

Let me start by saying, it’s actually not as god awful as I thought it would be. It wasn’t even that terrible. There are certain parts of the book that are even enjoyable. As long as you understand that this is just a light fluffy teen novel, and try not to over analyze it, it’s really not as bad as many literary snobs make it out to be. This was most definitely written for a specific demographic. I can definitely see why young girls love this book, and if I was a 13 year old girl again, I would probably love it too. That being said, it is packed with high school drama, and the maturity level of the characters are extremely low. If you are out of high school, and no longer think like that, it’s likely that you’ll find a lot of the book really annoying. I found it a little amusing though. Maybe it’s because it’s been less than ten years since I was in high school, and I still remember when I was as stupid as the characters in Twilight, but I kind of enjoyed that aspect of it. Replacement Mini Battery Travel

On the surface the Ipod Touch seems great but in order to use it, you have to install and use Itunes for the interface between your computer and the Ipod Touch. Using Itunes is one of the most iritating software applications that I have ever used. Trying to add WMV video files was an exercise in pure frustration. Never in my life have I spent so many hours searching there support and watching how-to videos, only to find that there instructions are incomplete and don’t work. Finally I got out of there support and searched the web (googled) for answers. It turns out you have to buy 3rd party converters, add your converted file to Itunes then convert it again in Itunes. 2 years ago I bought an inexpensive multi media player by Creative and in 10 minutes I was ripping cds and exporting videos to it. Untill Apple improves there support and Itunes do yourself a favor and buy something else.
