I don’t think there is much more to add than has already been said about the wonderful Kindle but I’ll add my 10 pence\cents worth..

I purchased the kindle as a present which gave me the ability to preload some books on to it. I was under the misapprehension that I would need to download them via usb to get them on there. So I was surprised when I turned the Kindle on to see the books there already. It is this which really sets the Kindle apart from other e-readers\books – Amazon call this magic the ‘Whisper Net’.

This gives you the ability to download content (even surf the web – though in a limited way) anywhere (supposedly globally but I’ve only used it in the UK). All this without a mobile contract – although Amazon claim that there may be charges incurred but I have yet to see any. This freedom from the usual Mobile Data contract or WiFi configuration is quite simply some sort of Magic and something that I hadn’t realised when purchasing the device.

This then really is the Unique Selling Point for the Kindle as far as I am concerned. However there are many other advantages like Battery Life of over a Month!, great reading screen, Storage for hundreds of books, Daily Newspapers, Monthly periodicals, Free Classic books etc etc

There are a number of e-readers out there and one notable device that does a lot more (it’s a big iPhone!) but for the price and the USP of the whisper net I don’t think there is a better choice.

I am so lucky to have found the Conversations With God books. I know that many people won’t be able to appreciate the books’ content because of their preconceived ideas about how/when/where/to whom God speaks, but I felt like I drew this book to me. Whether or not you believe Neale’s conversations are with God, it’s hard to deny the level of insightfulness in this book. For someone like me- reading this book with an open-mind and an open-heart & listening to my spirit for the answers about its validity- it was easy to conclude that this book offers something that is way more beneficial today than the ancient teachings being forced down our throats by those who seek to control our thinking. I think the CWG books are wonderful for someone who is ready to receive them. Unfortunately, too many of us aren’t in a place where they are willing to allow themselves the benefits that can come from these teachings of freedom, self-awareness, and the true love of God.

I love the theme and concept of the story and what Salinger is trying to convey. It is interesting an engaging. On the other hand I hate Holden Caulfield. He is terribly annoying and mean spirited. I understand how he fits well into the construct of the story but I know if I met someone like that in real life I would punch him in the face. He is so unlikable that I cringe whenever Holden speaks. If I could relate to him in any way I would have liked him more, but I do not.
