Title: The Catcher in the Rye
Author: J. D. Salinger
Grade: A
Ideal Audience: Boys & Girls, 13+

Summary: Holden Caulfield, sixteen years old, has gone from school to school, flunking his classes and being subsequently expelled from each institution. Now he’s leaving Pencey, and is set to return home on Wednesday. But spurred on by his general dislike of the “phonies” around him, Holden decides to spend a few days in New York City until Wednesday comes.

Using his height and unusual strands of gray hair as a disguise, Holden checks into a hotel room. However, he does not anticipate how quickly he will become bored and lonely. As he wanders around the city and calls up old friends, Holden reveals to the reader his alternating acceptance and contempt of human beings.

As the novel continues, we learn many of the reasons behind Holden’s actions and thought processes. His funny and touching story keeps the reader hooked until the last page.

My thoughts: The Catcher in the Rye does not have a standard plot line in that it doesn’t contain a single conflict and finally a resolution. The main focus of critics has been Holden’s voice, and that indeed is what keeps the book moving.

I would recommend this novel to all teenagers and interested adults. Although there has been questioning as to whether modern teens can relate with Holden, there is no doubt that we can all learn from and laugh with him.
DURAGADGET Blue Hard Digital

I’ve gotten these off of ebay and because of the price difference. Don’t think it’s a deal, it’s a bootleg. I noticed when the gold portion on the card didn’t look real, it looked like gold foil and it flaked off. Another indication you have a bootleg Transcend the data corrupts beyond 25-50 mb files but is fine with smaller file sizes like under 10 mb. The last indicator the label sticker looks cheap and the Adobe Illustrator colors don’t look like they used the gradient tool correctly. In the blue color on the color spectrum you’ll see it get hard and a straight line of color. Where it’s supposed to blend like a rainbow. I didn’t know I was getting a bootleg til it was too late. The seller was in the United States and got it from the Asian black market. The price was significantly low (about 50 dollars). Just a word from the wise, don’t forget about bootleg items like this, DS, PSP games, toys not sealed in there package with bad paint jobs, cheap power wires w no regulation #’s on them that passed fire standards, etc. I forgot about that market until I got a bogus Transcend. SanDisk is another company that is pirated or bootlegged heavily these days. Hope this helps for people who are on the look out of cheap non working copied product.

Edit: just a comment and warning to cards that are 32gb and are around the 35 price range.

My Riccar died and was irreparable so after reading the reviews on this vacuum I was sold.

I love it!

It is that beautiful blue you see in the Amazon photo.
I love having the attachments being attached to the machine so I can pull off whatever I need and use it immediately. It comes with:
2 extension wands
crevice tool
furniture nozzle
dusting brush

The vacuum has five settings from high carpet down to bare floor and the suction is fantastic. After a much needed vacuuming of the whole house after waiting between working vacuums, this one’s bag filled in two days, so I know it was really doing a great job.

There is no light but I’ve never seen the real point to them anyway so it did not detract from the rating.
I like the stair cleaning handle on the front so I can haul it up the stairs vacuuming as I go. It is light enough to use on stairs.
It uses disposable bags.

I bought this particular vacuum because I wanted a cheap price but hard working and I got it with this one!

I love my Garmin 305. I have had it for over 3 months, and am ussing it to train for my first marathon. I am STILL finding new functions and ways to improve my training. My Garmin 305 is like my own personal coach that gets up for a run with me and does a good job a keeping me motivated. The various alert options are great for letting you know when your heart rate or pace is too high or too low, and I love that I can plan my workouts for a week and have them loaded ready to go for me when I am ready to go for a run…no fuss. At first I thought the watch was going to be too big since I have very small wrists, but I don’t even notice it. My only cons would be that it does take some time to find satellites on cloudy days, and if you are running on a trail with lots of tree covering, you may get some erattic pace readings for a little bit (maybe too slow at first and then it will pick up a little faster than you are going to compensate). So just remember to try to keep your internal pace-o-meter steady when this happens. Other than that, this thing is awesome.

This scale was indeed as accurate as some of the other reviews have claimed. I can step on and off it 5 times in a row and the measured weight will always be the same. I also really like that I do not have to tap it on before stepping on it. I have a feeling I won’t need a scaled again for a long time. Great price, too.
