Qwerkbot button and LED boxAdd pushbutton inputs and colored LED outputs to your Qwerkbot. SPDT (single pole, double-throw) pusbuttons can be purchased from Radio Shack. Wire the normally-closed lead to ground and the normally open lead to +5V; wire the common lead to one of the Qwerk’s analog inputs. Super-bright LEDs in a variety of colors can be purchased at Radio Shack and wired to the Qwerk’s 3.3V digital output lines. You must put a resistor in series with the LED to limit the current flow. You can buy 100 or 150 ohm resistors at Radio Shack. For 5V LEDs use the 100 ohm resistor; for lower voltage LEDs use 150 ohms. The box shown here was machined from a 1x1x2 block of aluminum and mounted to the Qwerk top plate using two 4-40 bolts. But there are many other ways to mount switches and LEDs on your Qwerkbot. One simple way is to buy a small breadboard, drill a couple of holes in it, and mount it on some 4-40 screws just like the ones used to hold the battery in place.
