This has got to be one of the best inventions for dog grooming. I have a beagle and although she has a short coat she does shed with the approach of warmer weather. The Furminator does a wonderful job of getting out that loose fur, and she seems to enjoy it.

Like many other reviewers who purchased this scale, I was tired of the unreliability of my analog scale and would like one that gives consistent readings. After reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews I decided on this EatSmart scale. I’ve used it for a little over a month now, tracking and recording my weight almost daily. For the most part I agreed with the positive reviews: it is nice to look at, easy to use, and does give out consistent readings. However, I’ve also noticed some anomalies.

What I’ve noticed is that this scale (mine at least) only gives out a couple of different numbers for the first decimal place of a given pound reading. What I mean is, if the scale tells me my weight is 110.4 (fictitional number) on that day, the next time my weight hits the 110 range it would still be 110.4. If my weight is 111.6 one day, next time my weight hits the 111 range the first decimal place will very likely be 6 and not some other numbers.

This all could be a coincidence so I decided to run a little experiment. I used two oranges, weighing between 8 to 9 ounces each (about .5 pound). I first weigh myself and get one reading, say 110. Then I weigh myself again with one orange; the scale would still report 110. Only until I weigh myself with two oranges I get an increment in reading, say 111.2 for example. Now if I remove one orange and weigh myself again, the same me with one orange would now weight 111.2 instead of 110. After I remove the last orange and weigh only myself again, my weight reading would return to 110. The result of this crude experiment, and my experience of using it daily, suggests to me that there may be some memory mechanism in the scale to make it give out consisent readings for repeated measures over a short period of time. It could also be that the scale applies some heavy filtering mechanism to remove all fluctuations below one pound to make multiple readings consistent.

I take my time before buying things and for a couple of years I had been joking about buying an XBox. When the time to buy came, I researched and decided on a Wii. It exceeded anything I could have expected. The two points which sold me are 1) you have to get up off the couch and get active to play and 2) the focus isn’t so much on violence, blood and killing. I’m a senior citizen and my daughter picked this up for me. We played it until our arms were numb and she is looking to get her own Wii so we can play on-line. I check the daily weather and news stories on my Wii and my friends and I will soon start a bowling league. For the price, you can’t beat this system. If I were paying 50 cents for every game I played, it would have paid for itself in a month or two. The software selection is great and the prices are reasonable. I rate the Wii right up there with the Internet and the ATM. Get yours and you’ll see.

I have to say this before anything else, I love this scale! It has a modern “hi tech” look going for it, and I love the glass platform. The scale is super accurate and taking off a small piece of clothing changes your previous result. I also like that it displays large and legible numbers, along with it being backlit. Setting it up was a breeze, as simple as inserting the batteries provided (which is also a plus in my book), and stepping on the scale for the first time, allowing it to calibrate. You can’t go wrong with this scale in my opinion and it being priced under $30 is a steal!

I’ve had this scale for a week and I have family and friends ready to make their own purchase after using it. EatSmart has a winner here, what is everybody waiting for? HURRY UP AND BUY!

I love my kindle and happily sang its praises when anyone asked – I don’t like Amazon too much. OK, so they didn’t lie and it’s all there in plain print in the warranty, and I didn’t read it.
My kindle froze and died and Amazon quickly sent a replacement – but it’s not a new one and the warranty says it can be a refurbished one. That doesn’t make it right – if something breaks, you should get a new one – oh and by the way – your warranty will still run out at the end of the original 12 month period.
So in response, I won’t buy another kindle when this one dies – and given the fact it’s refurbished could be anytime soon.
I’m going to get an iPad which has a better and bigger screen and my kindle praises will be more muted too.

We own several 2TB versions of this unit, and we’ve been very satisfied with performance and configuration. The unit is rock-solid, and I can’t say a lot bad about it. My 4 stars rating is mostly based on the difficulty (but eventually successful with patience) in joining it to a Microsoft Windows-based domain that is consistent with these units in some network environments and configurations. Also lowering the rating is the lack of a rackmount variation for these units. Overall, these BlackArmor devices are very reliable and offer several important variations in configuration and uses. i recommend them highly, and hope they continue to improve this line of products as adoption and reputation increase.

After researching the many pedometers in the market place as well as reading the many reviews that Amazon provides, I decided on the Omron HJ112 Digital Pocket pedometer which I purchased this April through Amazon. It was the best purchase I have ever made for the money. It has met all my expectations. The Omron HJ112 has all the bells and whistles. I just love keeping it in my pocket as it counts the many steps I take, my aerobic work out, calories burned and the total distance. A real cool feature is the 7 day memory to see how you progress each day. It resets its self to zero after 12AM. I love it and so well you.I will also say that dealing with Amazon online line is a real pleasure. They are truly professionals and the service and follow up is outstanding. Five stars to Amazon.
